Behind the scenes
Being a person of colour in a position to lead a project I care about - TICK.
Having a story about a disabled black creative that is unique in his own way - TICK.
Bring light to an underrepresented community TICK.
These are a few of the things that made this project scream out to me, and I believe that it could be a unique opportunity due to just a few of the criteria I mentioned above. I always want to make projects that have a positive impact on the world and contribute to people and society.
Charlie Dennis is a super-talented director, whose attention to detail is amazing.
What is even better than that is his scriptwriting ability, his attention to detail shows in his writing and I wanted to deliver the best for him. It was a great partnership. It always felt like our project, our vision and he worked as hard as me, motivating me to give that extra bit more anytime it was required. It was really nice to also be a creative producer more than just a logistical figurehead who just gets things done without any creative input.
